There has been much hubbub today about Facebook’s policy on allowing 3rd party advertisers to use pictures we post in Facebook for advertising purposes. If I understand this correctly, this means that a friend of mine would see a picture of me inside one of those ads schlocking the key to making $5000 – $10 000 a month on the Internet. This seems a bit sneaky and underhanded to many people out there on Facebook land, but luckily there seems to be a quick fix. I’ve outlined the steps below on how to opt out of this policy.
First, go to settings and select Privacy settings:
Then select News Feed and Wall:
Then choose Facebook Ads:
Finally, set the box next to Appearance of Facebook Ads to No one and save your changes.
